45-year-old man and the 30-year-old woman were arrested and accused on suspicion of drug smuggling

The 45-year-old man and the 30-year-old woman in the car (Volkswagen Golf), who were heading for Macedonia, were arrested and accused on suspicion of drug smuggling. The court will decide on their remanding in custody. The customs officers started to inspect the car in detail. The drug was uncovered thanks to a dog trained in detecting drugs, said Pavel Hoffman, head of the customs authority's drug and weapon section. The dog reacted to the car back. After the number plate was removed, the customs officers found a total of 30 drug parcels in the space between the bumper and the undercarriage. This has been a record high amount of drugs uncovered by customs officer on one occasion since 2005 when 19 kilos of heroin was found in a Hungarian lorry on Czech territory, Novinky.cz server reported. In the same year, the Czech police seized a contraband with 10kg of heroin in a Bulgarian lorry near Breclav, south Moravia. The so far biggest drug amount in one delivery (82 kilos) was revealed at the Czech border in 1998. In 2007, Czech customs officers and policemen seized a total of 20 kilos of heroin.
