Montriel Ramont Esaw will serve more than six years in a federal prison following his conviction of distributing crack cocaine.

Montriel Ramont Esaw 23-year-old Anchorage man will serve more than six years in a federal prison following his conviction of distributing crack cocaine.
Montriel Ramont Esaw was sentenced in U.S. District Court in Anchorage. The U.S. Attorney's Office said Esaw sold more than 21 grams of crack on three occasions in 2007. Officials say when he was arrested, he was found with 20 grams of crack, 16 grams of marijuana, and just more than $2,000 in drug sale proceeds.

Officials say on four separate occasions, Fisher sold crack cocaine to a government informant. Anchorage police also say they found crack cocaine in Fisher's possession when they made a traffic stop.

Jose Antonio Diaz,Adolfo Sanchez-Rios,Luis Manueal Castaneda Robles smuggling the drugs in hidden vehicle compartments

Jose Antonio Diaz, 30, Adolfo Sanchez-Rios, 37, and Luis Manueal Castaneda Robles, 31, all citizens of Mexico, pleaded guilty to the charges that stemmed from their actions smuggling the drugs in hidden vehicle compartments, then funneling the cash back out of the state the same way, the U.S. attorney said. During one shipment in April 2007, the men sent 10 kilograms of cocaine, according to the U.S. attorney.
The two-year investigation resulted in law enforcement officers seizing more than $350,000 in cash that was on its way out of the state, prosecutors said. The men are scheduled to be sentenced in May. They each face a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison, prosecutors said.

Thomas Ranes pleaded guilty Friday in federal court to one count of marijuana importation

Thomas Ranes pleaded guilty Friday in federal court to one count of marijuana importation conspiracy, one count of money laundering, and one count of international money laundering, according to a U.S. Attorneys press release. Thomas Cody was also part of the ring and was killed by Ranes' partner, Dennis Shine. "Murder, Marijuana, and Money...the three M's that lead to Maximum security." said Michael Hearns an anti money laundering specialist
A Department of Justice investigation found that after Cody's death, Ranes assumed a greater role in the marijuana trafficking and smuggling conspiracy. Five other men have also admitted guilt for their roles in the drug ring. Ranes is scheduled to be sentenced in April and faces life in prison and $4 million in fines.
