Christian Aliaga, Edwardo Flores, Christopher Bautista,Yaseth Mendez

Christian Aliaga, 26, of 403 Greenwich Ave., Greenwich, and Christopher Bautista, 19, of 161 Custer St., Stamford, in a running car parked near Bautista's home on the East Side late Thursday, police said.The officers allegedly found a bag on the front seat. Bautista admitted the marijuana was his .During the arrest, Aliaga's cell phone rang several times. An officer picked it up and the caller offered $110 for a quarter ounce of marijuana, Fontneau said.
The alleged buyer, Yaseth Mendez, 24, of 17 Orange St., Stamford, told the officer a friend would make the exchange on Cove Road
Officers saw Bautista apparently trying to hide something under the seat. They approached and smelled marijuana, said Lt. Jon Fontneau, commander of the narcotics and organized crime squad.The two men admitted smoking marijuana but claimed they had none left, police said; one officer spotted two sandwich bags of marijuana in the center console and arrested both men.
Bautista's grandfather gave police permission to search Bautista's bedroom, where they found a lockbox holding what Bautista called "his life savings," Fontneau said. Bautista said about $1,000 inside. Police found $12,620.
They seized the cash along with a bag of marijuana, a digital scale and 62 small plastic bags they found in the room.
Police seized about $1,400 cash found on the suspects, Fontneau said.
Officers then drove to Cove Road and Dale Street, where they spotted Mendez's friend. Officers told Mendez to call the man and have him walk toward their car.
Police arrested Edwardo Flores, 22, of 455 Cove Road, Stamford, and charged him with criminal attempt to possess marijuana and criminal attempt to possess marijuana with intent to sell.
Police seized Flores' cell phone, and, still posing as buyers, called Mendez and asked to meet. Mendez said he was working as a cook at a restaurant on Summer Street, and told the officers to meet him there. He emerged and was arrested.
Police charged Mendez with criminal attempt to possess marijuana and conspiracy to possess marijuana.
A third buyer then called Bautista's phone and asked to buy $10 of marijuana. An officer posed as Bautista and arranged to meet the buyer, Elizabeth Boitano, 25, of 58 Aberdeen St., Stamford, at a restaurant on East Main Street. Officers saw Boitano waiting in her Toyota Camry. She was arrested on a criminal attempt at possessing marijuana charge.
Police charged Aliaga with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and conspiracy to possess marijuana.
Bautista was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, conspiracy to commit both crimes and operation of a drug factor
Police released every suspect but Bautista after they signed written promises to appear in court. Police released Bautista after he posted $1,000 bond.
All five were scheduled to appear Jan. 17 at state Superior Court in Stamford.
