Robin Cote was arrested by Montreal police on March 27 and returned to Ottawa on Thursday to face several charges, including first-degree murder, according to Ottawa police.A Canada-wide warrant for Mr. Cote's arrest was issued in January 2006.
Mr. Ferguson, a 27-year-old British Columbia native, was hired as a drug mule to transport 17 kilograms of pure Colombian cocaine to Ottawa before he was killed over a botched delivery, according to earlier court proceedings related to the case.four men admitted in court to their role in Mr. Ferguson's death. Mr. Cote is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.He faces charges of first-degree murder, conspiracy to kidnap, kidnapping, extortion, aggravated assault with a weapon, robbery and conspiracy to traffic cocaine.Paul Layoun, 29, is still wanted on a Canada-wide warrant in connection with Mr. Ferguson's death.
