Three Israeli suspects allegedly involved in a massive drug smuggling attempt will remain in custody, a British court has ruled. The attempted smuggling bid was uncovered earlier this week in the wake of a year and a half monitoring effort by the Tel Aviv Police Department, undertaken in cooperation with Belgian and British police.The cannabis seized by authorities in Southampton could be worth as much as $40-60 million, the Southampton Magistrate's Court was told.
In total, nine suspects are facing charges in connection with the smuggling attempt, including three Israelis: Moshe Kedar, 80, Yehezkel Srebro, 56, and Mordechai Hersh, 66. The court was also told that the amount of drugs discovered on the boast by police officers was "in excess of five tons."The seizure is believed to be one of the largest in British history
