Ivan Cam, 42, received the high bail amount during his arraignment Friday on an array of drug charges that include two counts of delivering methamphetamine.
Marion County prosecutors expect to present charges to a grand jury within a few weeks related to the large amount of stolen property found on his 10-acre rural property east of Gervais.
“I anticipate a significant number of additional charges will be presented to the grand jury,” Deputy District Attorney Katie Suver said during Friday’s hearing.
Salem police arrested Cam Dec. 30 after they found a quarter-pound of meth and more than an ounce of marijuana during a raid on his property, Suver said.
Investigators then spent nine days combing the property for stolen items. They found around 2,400 suspected stolen items, including cars, firearms and jewelry.
Marion County Circuit Judge Joseph Ochoa imposed the $1 million bail, noting guidelines that set bail at $500,000 for a single charge of delivering meth.
Ochoa also sentenced Cam on Friday to 45 days in jail on a March 2007 conviction on a state environmental crime, unlawful filling of waters.
Cam had been charged with violating probation he had been serving for that conviction. His attorney, Portland lawyer Marc Blackman, asked that Ochoa revoke the probation because Cam was not benefiting from it.
