Barbara Higgs is facing the local justice system over the seizure of 49.7 grams of marijuana at her residence in Lombok.
The interesting part of this case is the fact that Higgs is a permanent expatriate who lives in Indonesia and owns a hotel on Senggigi Beach tourist area. One might think an expat would be a little savvy to the local laws and know of the disproportionate punishments for drugs in the country.
Local sources supposedly tipped off police to the drugs in her possession.
Higgs allegedly also tested positive to Marijuana in her urine sample.
If convicted of the most serious charge, she will face the death penalty. The lesser charges she is facing will see her with between 4 and 20 years
