Criminal Justice Online: CBP Officers Foil a $3 Million Cocaine Smuggling Attempt

Criminal Justice Online: CBP Officers Foil a $3 Million Cocaine Smuggling Attempt: "U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the San Luis port of entry arrested a 34-year-old man on charges for attempting to smuggle cocaine into the United States.

“The uniqueness of being a CBP officer is the self-gratification received from seizures such as these,” said Port Director William K. Brooks. “This dangerous drug was kept from reaching the streets of our country and we have the officers to thank.”

On June 16, the 34-year old man applied for entry into the U.S driving a Dodge 1500 truck. A CBP officer conducted the primary interview and referred the man to the vehicle secondary lot for further inspection."
