Joseph, White and Sandifer New Orleans firefighters accused of selling drugs sometimes outside fire stations where they worked


Former firefighter, Wayne Williams II, 28, of Gretna, is the alleged ringleader of the group.Three former New Orleans firefighters who were accused of selling drugs — sometimes outside fire stations where they worked — have pleaded guilty to federal charges.
Milton Joseph, 25; Aaron White, 24; and Eddie Sandifer, 22, all of New Orleans, admitted to several drug- and gun-related offenses, U.S. Attorney Jim Letten announced Friday.
Also pleading guilty was another New Orleans resident, Damon Burkhalter, 40.Joseph, White and Sandifer all worked in the New Orleans Fire Department before their arrests.Some undercover drug buys made during an investigation that started last May took place outside city firehouses.The drug trafficking took place between May and November, according to court filings. White rented a 7th Ward apartment that was used to store, package and distribute heroin.
His name appears in 19 of the 24 counts in the indictment, including charges of selling hydrocodone and diazepam along with the heroin and crack, and for carrying a .45-caliber pistol while dealing drugs. His case is pending.
Burkhalter pleaded guilty to participating in a conspiracy to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin, according to court records. He also acknowledges that he had a prior felony drug conviction, which may be used to enhance his sentence.
He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years and a maximum of life imprisonment, up to $4 million in fines and at least five years of supervised release.White pleaded guilty to maintaining drug-involved premises, prohibited by what's commonly called "the crack house statute." He faces up to 20 years in prison, fines and supervised release.Sandifer pleaded guilty to participating in a conspiracy to distribute heroin and faces up to 20 years imprisonment, as well as fines and supervised release.Joseph pleaded guilty to participating in a conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of cocaine base (crack) and 100 grams or more of heroin. He faces a minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life
